Job description: An esteemed company in the Fresh & Frozen Seafood Import & Export sector, renowned for its premium value-driven and sustainable approach to food distribution, is currently seeking a Sales Representative in the South Bay LA area.

This full-time role reports to the Vice President of Sales and requires a candidate with a high emotional quotient (EQ) and a strong sense of teamwork. The business is dynamic and fast-paced, demanding a high level of adaptability and interdependence within the sales team and the broader company.

Sales Representative Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain regular communication with customers to manage upcoming orders, introduce new products, and confirm logistics and pricing.
  • Engage in new business development, reaching out to establish new accounts in an evolving industry.
  • Focus on developing and strengthening existing customer relationships, with a portion of time dedicated to hunting for new business opportunities.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the company’s products and serve as a knowledgeable advocate for the brands represented.
  • Keep abreast of trade factors, market conditions, and supply information to contribute to the team’s understanding of developments in the North American seafood marketplace.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and team members to become an integral part of the company’s ecosystem.
  • Oversee the sales process through to delivery, including addressing freight and logistics challenges and ensuring clear communication.
  • Manage communications regarding receivables and payment terms with customers.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts, business, marketing, agricultural/animal science, or more than 2 years of experience selling seafood to comparable buyers.
  • At least 2 years of experience in logistics/freight and business development.
  • Proven ability to make successful presentations to all organizational levels.
  • The capability to manage accounts and sell to a range of decision-makers including CEOs, Chefs, and Operations Managers.
  • Will inherit a few existing accounts with the expectation to deepen those relationships and generate new business.
